This is a generalization of the first puzzle in Presh Talwalkar's Math Puzzles Volume 1.

Puzzle

8 ants sit on the vertices of a cube (floating in space). Each ant sets off along one of the edges incident to its vertex, at random. What is the probability that no ants will collide?
